Evangelist Carolyn Johnson-White comes from a Levitical family of ministers, pastors, musicians and singers. She herself began singing at the age of 8 all over the country in the family group “The Johnson Singers” with her mother and two of her brothers. They moved to New York in 1963 where she joined the Institutional COGIC and became one of the lead singers for the famous Institutional Radio Choir. Heard regularly on their weekly broadcast, she recorded lead on 7 of the choir’s many recordings. One Friday night as she ministered in song, Evangelist Johnson-White was heard by the producers of the hit musical “The Gospel at Colonus” and was chosen as the featured soloist for the play. She performed in the 1,000th anniversary production of the show at Carnegie Hall and was featured on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater. Evangelist Johnson-White has performed with the show in 35 of the 50 United States and internationally in Russia, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Greece, Scotland and Brazil.
Evangelist White has worked with such gospel artists as Kurt Carr, Donnie McClurkin, Andrae Crouch and others, too many to name. She has performed on radio and television and in various commercials throughout her singing career. Most recently, she was a Top 10 Finalist on BET’s Season 2 of the gospel show “Sunday Best” and was the audience favorite. After years of faithfulness to her call, and in God’s timing, Evangelist Johnson-White released her first single on iTunes and other internet music sites entitled “You Shall Come Forth.”
Although she is easily recognized by her powerful singing anointing, she is not just a singer but a prophetic psalmist and minister of the word of God. Saved at the age of 4 and called to the ministry at age 18, the anointing rested on her life then and continues to flow now by the power of the Holy Spirit. Evangelist White was licensed under the leadership of Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake and Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis and attends the West Angeles COGIC where she is active in the Prayer, Prison, Young Adult, Music and Evangelist Missionary’s Ministries.
Over the past eleven (11) years, Evangelist White has been the facilitator at West Angeles COGIC for the Prophetic Summit training class, edifying, releasing and enabling those with a gift and those seeking an understanding of the prophetic move by the Holy Ghost on how to effectively and decently minister with power, clarity and accountability as vessels unto honor. In 2016, Evangelist Johnson-White published her first book the “Prophetic Summit Training Manual.”
Evangelist White is the mother of 3, grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 10 and friend and mentor to many. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Long Island University in NYC with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Music. Evangelist White has great compassion for young women, especially single mothers, and through her ministry seeks to encourage and empower them to reach their highest potential. She is a unique flower planted by God in the garden of life and carries His fragrance of love with her warm smile and quiet spirit. Her endeavor is to continue to touch the lives of God’s people everywhere as she remains humbly and faithfully a servant until Jesus’ return.
